Kundalini Yoga
Yoga is a spiritual
science which has been practiced for thousands of years. It is a system of
disciplines that involves care of the body, mind and spirit through physical
postures, breathing techniques, mantra, chanting and meditation. There are
many ways to practice Yoga.
A Kundalini Yoga class
incorporates a blend of physical postures, repetition of movement, pranayama,
meditation and chanting followed by deep relaxation. Class opens with a chant to invite the Creator and the Divine
Teacher within to inspire us in our yoga practice. A yoga set or kriya (cleansing practices)
is selected by the teacher which concludes with meditation and deep relaxation.
Kundalini Yoga works to
restore energy balance and vitality by relieving the physical and emotional
effects of unreleased stress. It gently and effectively opens blocked
energy, leaving one feeling relaxed and at peace.
To prepare for class:

Dress in comfortable, stretchable
clothing

Arrive on an empty or light stomach

Allow yourself plenty of time
to
get class

Remove your shoes at the door
before entering

Arrive a few minutes early so
that you can practice pranayama and stretch

Come to class with an open mind
and an open heart
