Reiki
What is Reiki?
Reiki is a Japanese word for Universal Life Energy.
Rei means Universal and Ki means Life Force Energy. Reiki is the energy
that permeates throughout the universe. This Universal Life Force Energy can be transferred
to someone or something through a Reiki Practitioner for the purpose of
healing. A Reiki treatment is both gentle and powerful and promotes a
deep meditative healing state.
The system of Reiki for healing
was originally discovered by Dr. Usui in 1914 and is called Usui Ryoho Reiki.
Since the discovery of Usui Reiki, there have been many other systems of Reiki
discovered.
Karuna ReikiŽ, a system
created by William Rand with the help of other Reiki Masters, evolved out of
Usui and Tibetan Reiki. Karuna ReikiŽ translates as Compassionate Reiki.
The Divine Energies connected to Karuna ReikiŽ are unique to the system.
Karuna ReikiŽ is used in addition to Usui Reiki during healing sessions at Inner
Path.
During a Reiki treatment, the
receiver is fully clothed. The Reiki Practitioner channels Reiki by placing the hands directly on
or above the person. The Reiki
Practitioner
serves as a clear channel for the flow of Reiki from the Universe to the client.
Reiki flows quite naturally when the hands are placed on or near the client's
body. Reiki assists in re-establishing balance in the body and stimulates
the body's own innate wisdom to heal. Reiki will help to reduce pain,
release past and present negative energies, and promote healthy change. It helps calm the emotions, induce
relaxation and restore peace.
A Reiki session takes about one
hour. To prepare for a Reiki treatment, dress in loose, comfortable
clothing. Natural fiber clothing is recommended.
Reiki and the Chakras
Chakra
in Sanskrit
means spinning wheel and is the term used to describe the seven major light
energy centers that align the spine, neck and head. Each chakra has an integral
function in maintaining our health physically, mentally, emotionally and
spiritually.
Keeping these gateways properly functioning is
vitally important to our health, since disruptions in energy flow lead to
illness.
Regular Reiki
treatments help to balance the chakras and restore harmonious flow of life force
energy to prevent sickness.

A Reiki Share is a gathering of
Reiki Practitioners for the purpose of giving and receiving Reiki. A Reiki
Share offers the opportunity to share Reiki experiences, deepen one's Reiki
practice and most important, send light and prayers for global healing and
peace.
